UnionBankers Creating Space For DEI Conversations

UnionBank’s week-long celebration of Pride and Inclusivity in the workplace was filled with fun activities, including the Diversity Champions Appreciative Workshop.

UnionBankers at the UnionBank Plaza gathered on the 14th floor Leader’s Know to learn about the Bank’s latest efforts to reinforce its commitment to be a safe space for LGBTQIA+ employees and clients.

Jam, UnionBank Diversity Champion and LEAD Management Trainee, shared her experience and insights from the gathering:

I see this workshop as a significant step for our DEI networks such as Pride and Future Forward Females to move forward steadily. I met some of the Champions for the first time but immediately felt a connection and a safe space just because they were present. I appreciate how this workshop helped us envision what we want to achieve regarding DEI in the workplace. At the end of the workshop, I realized that we are all clamoring to co-create innovations through and with diversity for a better world.

Rache, Senior Writer for UnionBank’s Employer Branding and Communications, had a wonderful time at the workshop. She explains, “The Appreciative Inquiry is a groundbreaking exercise that helped us assess the current state of UnionBank’s D.E.I initiatives and cultivate hope and vision for a future state that will make the workplace more engaged and inclusive for all”.

The Appreciative Inquiry Workshop is our first and monumental step towards embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. It is not just a moral imperative; it is an essential driver of innovation, growth, and success. The ideas and sentiments that were unlocked from my fellow participants will help us foster an environment that values and respects every individual. Together, we can build a workplace where everyone feels empowered, included, and celebrated for who they are, creating a future that is truly transformative and extraordinary.

UnionBank continuously recognizes everyone’s individuality and the Appreciative Inquiry Workshop solidifies the company’s push towards a more diverse and inclusive workplace culture. From Future Forward Females to its existing Pride Network, UnionBankers can expect more Diversity and Inclusion Programs.
